CHALLENGE

Create an identity and layout for a new magazine that stands out while still fitting the target demographic.

APPROACH

I wanted to emulate a 70s men’s magazine so I utilized bold yellow type on the cover. To add some grit and create unity between issues I used a black and white portrait for the cover. To create a clean aesthetic that fit with the demographic I leaned on colors found in camouflage paired with the bold yellow from the cover. Throughout the magazine I edited photos with a grainy film emulation edit to give the magazine a more raw gritty feel.
